The International Flow Battery Forum (IFBF®) – the leading event for the flow battery community – is back on 16-18 June in the capital of Hungary, Budapest, at the Intercontinental Hotel, located in the city centre in front of the Danube river.

Over three days, the IFBF will feature talks, panel sessions, open discussions, networking breaks, a poster session, a networking reception, a conference dinner, and a local site visit. After the great success of the 2025 edition in Vienna, we expect around 350 delegates from all over the world – featuring the leading experts of the flow battery sector – 20 exhibitor booths and 50 posters.
The IFBF promotes the most recent developments in the science, technology, and commercialisation of flow batteries. Our conferences cover a broad range of interests in the research and commercial aspects of flow batteries.
Flow batteries can store energy for many hours, last for decades, and are non-flammable and recyclable – making them ideal for stabilising grids powered by solar and wind.
IFBF 2026 – TIME FOR FLOW BATTERIES!
2026 is expected to be the breakthrough year for flow batteries. Technology is finally reaching commercial scale just as the world needs more long-duration energy storage to balance renewable power.
The conference will bring together users, manufacturers, suppliers, academics, and students to meet, learn, and raise the profile of flow batteries among the energy storage sector.
The IFBF agenda is guided by proposals for presentations, posters, and panel sessions. Topics range from the latest research from laboratories to the latest commercial flow battery deployments. We have presentations on the supply of raw materials and components, and presentations covering a range of chemistries and configurations. We discuss current and future applications, and debate the priorities for both research and development, and commercialisation.

TICKETS
Tickets for IFBF 2026 will go on sale soon, starting with an Early Bird promotion. As usual, three categories of tickets are available: Standard, Academic, and Student.
STANDARD: 1220€ + VAT (Early Bird) – 1410€ + VAT (Regular)
ACADEMIC: 990€ + VAT (Early Bird) – 1180€ + VAT (Regular)
STUDENT: 600€ + VAT
All tickets for IFBF include access to three days of conference, exhibition area, poster session, and a poster session/cocktail reception on Day 2.
ACCOMMODATION
A preferential rate is available at the InterContinental Hotel for the conference dates: https://book.passkey.com/e/51200817. The rooms are classic double rooms with a normal view (EUR 215 per night) or river view (EUR 265 per night).
