The International Flow Battery Forum (IFBF®) – the leading event for the flow battery community – will take place on 16–18 June in Budapest, Hungary, at the InterContinental Hotel, located in the city centre on the banks of the Danube River. Over three days, IFBF will feature talks, panel sessions, open discussions, networking breaks, a poster session, a networking reception, a conference dinner, and a local site visit. Following the great success of the 2025 edition in Vienna, we expect around 350 delegates from around the world, including leading experts from the flow battery sector, as well as 20 exhibitor booths and 50 posters.
IFBF promotes the latest developments in the science, technology, and commercialisation of flow batteries. The conference covers a broad range of topics across both research and commercial aspects of the field.
2026 is expected to be a breakthrough year for flow batteries. The technology is finally reaching commercial scale, just as the world requires more long-duration energy storage to balance renewable power.
The conference brings together users, manufacturers, suppliers, policymakers, academics, and students from across the globe, gathering in Budapest for three days to connect, learn, and raise the profile of flow batteries within the energy storage sector.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Registration is open. Payment will be collected in May for administrative reasons. Please note that registration constitutes a commitment to attend and is subject to later payment. All registered participants will receive detailed payment instructions by email.
All IFBF tickets include access to the three-day conference, exhibition area, poster session, and the poster session & cocktail reception on Day 2. A separate ticket is required for the conference dinner and the site visit. A full ticket including all the IFBF activities is available, with limited availability.

Rooms are available as classic double rooms with a standard view (EUR 215 per night) or a river view (EUR 265 per night). The preferential rate applies to stays from Sunday 14 June to Friday 19 June, and availability is limited.
