The means to providing and maintaining a secure energy supply are now a daily topic of discussion, and we now have an important opportunity to make sure that flow batteries are included in corporate, national and international energy strategies.
Here in the UK there is a very strong interest in large scale battery energy storage, with many project developers taking advantage of volatility in wholesale electricity markets and high ancillary service prices. But it is still a latent market for longer duration storage, as costs and revenues have yet to reach a balancing point.
We will be exploring how to take flow batteries into the large-scale energy markets in our conference this summer. We will discuss the need for flow battery gigafactories, examine the supply of materials for manufacturing, and the lifetime cost of flow batteries. As our politicians and industry leaders debate the future of energy, we will be showcasing the contribution that flow batteries can make in the energy mix. We hope that you will join our speakers, poster presenters and colleagues at this year’s conference.
We are pleased to announce that registration for IFBF 2022 is now open. This year Flow Batteries Europe will be our conference hosts, as the conference takes place in their home city of Brussels. We currently offer a discount for early registration, and discounts for staff of recognised academic institutions and students in full time education.
