I am grateful that we can plan an in-person conference this summer after a two-year pause. Running the virtual events was a great alternative when we couldn’t meet in person, but there’s nothing like face-to-face interaction for building long-term relationships. Our two-day conference will be held at Hotel Le Plaza in Brussels, Belgium on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 June 2022.
The IFBF is a meeting place for all the flow battery community, and so there will be other activities alongside our meeting. On Monday 27 June, there will be a pre-conference meeting with a focus on the EU funded projects SONAR and CompBat, followed by a panel session and seminar to discuss EU funding and collaboration between industry and research institutions. On Thursday 30 June, after the main IFBF conference, we are planning a site visit to see flow batteries and other battery systems.
We are very pleased that this year’s conference will be hosted by Flow Batteries Europe (FBE). The IFBF is delighted to be working with FBE and know that their expertise and experience will make this year’s event a huge success. FBE is an international, not-for-profit trade association aimed at accelerating decarbonisation in Europe and globally by increasing the deployment of energy storage and flexibility solutions through flow battery technology. FBE will hold their members’ only General Assembly on Monday evening preceding the IFBF conference.
Registration for IFBF 2022 will open on 31 March 2022 and will be managed by FBE. Full details will be provided in the next IFBF newsletter.
