We are pleased to announce that the next meeting of the IFBF will be held in the French city of Lyon from 9th to 11th of July 2019. Lyon is a fascinating city: the birthplace of André-Marie Ampère; renowned for its architecture; its status as a UNESCO world heritage site, and it has an excellent reputation for its gastronomy. Lyon has its own international airport, approximately 30 minutes from the city centre and a TGV railway station with regular trains from Paris and Geneva (both about 2 hours)
Our conference will be held in the Centre de Congrès, Lyon which is about 3 km from the city centre, and easily reached by local bus. The conference venue is on the banks of the River Rhone, and adjacent to the Parc de la Tete d’Or. There is limited underground car parking at the venue.
Delegates attending the IFBF may join our visit to IFP – Energies Nouvelles at their site 15 km south of Lyon to see their flow battery installations and microgrid demonstration.
Lyon is a popular city, and hotel accommodation should be reserved promptly. We have reserved some blocks of rooms at hotels in the city. We also advise delegates that the FIFA women’s world cup final will be held in Lyon on Sunday 7th July, on the weekend before the IFBF.
