Rick Winter is President & CEO of UET. He has been a the forefront of electricity storage since 1990, leading the Storage Technology at PG&E in California and developing microgrids in Australia’s Torres Strait. He has led product development at five advanced battery companies and received the NAAT Batt lifetime achievement award and the ESA Phil Symons award, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the energy storage industry. He holds several patents for flow battery technology. Rick co-founded the ESA, served as its chairman on two occasions and has been an enthusiastic supporter of the IFBF since its inception. He is fully occupied with the deployment of UET’s ReFlex™ product, the culmination of a $500 million investment in vanadium technology
