Corneliu Barbu

Corneliu Barbu is currently an Associate Professor at Aarhus University, in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. Prior to this, he worked in various technical and leadership roles at General Electric in the United States, and Siemens and Vestas in Denmark. In these roles, he has managed large international teams and industrial R&D projects with budgets between 2-130 million EUR. 

His research interests lie in the area of control for power electronics, integrated energy systems, renewable energy and electrical energy storage applications. He is currently the main coordinator of two European projects to develop energy storage systems for grid and E-mobility applications.

He holds an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California and has co-authored seven international patents to date. Barbu is Aarhus University’s representative in the European Association for Storage of Energy (EASE).
