With the continuing challenges of COVID-19, and especially the ongoing complications with international travel, we have decided to hold another virtual event. We have held two successful virtual events now and we hope that you will you be able to join us at our next: the Virtual Summer Symposium, 7-9 July 2021.
Our symposium will provide opportunities for discussion and networking, showcase flow battery progress, and review some international R&D programmes.
We thank you for your patience and understanding, and we thank our sponsors and supporters for their continued support of the IFBF.

In previous years we have hosted our conferences in various countries and enjoyed welcoming delegates, speakers, presenters, exhibitors and sponsors in person. We’ve combined conferences with visits to commercial and academic institutions, and become friends with many of the leading figures in the flow battery industry.
But, like others, we have had to adapt to the challenges of COVID-19. While we sincerely hope to return to physical events in the future, the present is virtual. Our next conference – our eleventh – will be held online as a virtual event over three days, 19-21 January 2021.
And virtual conferences have their advantages. They bring flexibility; you can watch online from your home or the office. You can join us live and still ask questions. Or watch later at your convenience. We have chosen the Attendify platform for its flexibility and ease of use. Attendify is available via a web browser, or on mobile devices via the Attendify app. There will be live keynote speakers and panel sessions. There is a dedicated area for posters and their presenters. With Attendify’s chat feature you can talk with the experts and network as before.
It might be a bit different, but it’s still the same team, and it’s still the best place to talk flow batteries.

We have decided to transfer our conference to an online, virtual event. It will take place over three days, 19-21 January 2021. Our online IFBF Showcase in the summer showed us a virtual event has value and we believe that this is in the best interests of delegates, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and our staff. We recognise the negative impact on the planned conference venue and hope that a face-to-face conference will be possible later in 2021.
